Agronomic judgement

Lunar phases and agriculture: tradition versus evidence

Lunar calendars do not provide a reliable scientific basis for planning sowing, transplanting or fertilisation.

Lunar phases are part of agricultural traditions, but a scientific review found no reliable evidence to justify crop practices based on them. Effects on sap, photosynthesis, germination or pests should not be presented as established facts.

When deciding when to sow or transplant, prioritise temperature, moisture, soil condition, weather forecasts and crop requirements. Consult local agronomic guidance rather than promises tied to lunar phases.

General information. Product and dose selection requires crop diagnosis and documentation for the specific formulation.
